What is Rycote 10 Windshield extender plate?
The use of the Samsound Rycote extender helps the boom operator gain a few centimetres of distance in case the boompole is forced further away from the action due to physical objects. (A good example is when a the camera is mounted on an ”Easy Rig”, dynamically moving around in a constrained set. The boompole would need to be kept above the line of the Easy Rig’s arm.)
